Business Writing for the Nonprofit Professional

  

Professionals are facing a growing demand for writing that is tailored to a range of defined audiences and stakeholders. This can include drafting effective business letters, memos, reports, and emails in professional contexts. Learning the best-practices in business communication increases your writing power, improves your competence, and makes you a more effective communicator.

 

Using current research in rhetoric and professional writing, this training teaches you how to tailor your writing to the specific needs of each organization. Participants in this interactive session will learn the rhetorical principles and writing practices necessary to analyze professional cultures, social contexts, and audiences to determine how they shape various forms of workplace writing.

Instructor:

Sonja Pasquantonio, Human Resources Coordinator , Sate Education Resource Center

Sonja Paquantonia has over 20 years of human resources experience in the military and nonprofit organizations with a focus on mission-driven and results-focused leadership. Her current role as Human Resources Coordinator at SERC involves working with the Connecticut Department of Education as well as other external stakeholders, in addition to providing employee relations meeting facilitation, and annual and on-demand compliance training.

 

Program Fees:

 

  • Early Bird discount is $65 for members and $115 for nonmembers. The Early Bird Discount is available until September 21, 2017.
  • Registration fee for members is $90.
  • Registration fee for nonmembers is $140.

The program fee covers workshop materials, assessment tools, and most meals. Payment is due in full upon registration and enrollment will not be guaranteed until payment is received. Some exclusions may apply.
