Customize Your Grant Proposal to Meet Funders' Needs

Many nonprofits have one standard proposal that they mass mail to potential funders'. This is a mistake; it is critical to customize each grant proposal to the funders' criteria. With so much information available today about what foundations are looking for, and with steep competition, it is essential to go the extra mile to make each proposal special.

Learn the basics of tailoring grant requests to meet funders' needs while participating in an interactive exercise that matches sample grant proposals to real-lie foundation donors and then adjust proposals accordingly.

In this training participants will learn:

  • How to determine which of the services your agency offers are most fundable,
  • How to figure out which of the funders on your prospect list are your highest priority,
  • How to come up with an appropriate "ask" amount for each prospective funder, and
  • Submission techniques that will get your customized grant proposal noticed.
