This trauma training is ideal for behavioral health providers and practitioners, social workers, case managers, case workers and others who work with individuals suffering from mental health illnesses, substance use, and trauma. Please look below for full description. The ideal learner is one who is pursuing a deeper level of knowledge, renewing their license, and most importantly, wants to acquire the latest information, and new approaches in this field.

Treating Trauma and Stress-Related Disorders: Models of Treatment

 

This training will focus upon the changes in the DSM-5 related to the Trauma and Stress-Related Disorders. Covering each of the disorders in this new section, participants will gain a working knowledge of the information and the application of the diagnostic criteria. Best practice models of treatment interventions and a review of current medications will be covered using case studies and video vignettes.

 

Training Objectives include:

  • The diagnostic criteria for the trauma and stress-related disorders,
  • Best practice models for trauma treatment,
  • Discussion of the current medications to assist in stabilizing trauma reactions and symptoms.

 

Instructor:

Mary O'Sullivan LMFT, LADC, LPC, Clinical Manager and Clinical Trainer with over 27 years of experience, both nationally and internationally in both private and public sectors. In the State of Connecticut, Mary-K has trained for: Department of Corrections, Judicial Department, and the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. As a trainer for the Division of Education and Training for the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and the Judicial Department, Mary-K provides training to DOC staff, adult and juvenile probation officers, parole officers, juvenile residential services staff, bail staff, women's and family matters staff, clinicians, case managers, and medical staff.

 

Program Fees:

The Early Bird Discount is available until February 22, 2018.

  • $120 for Not-Yet-Members

Regular registration fees are:

  • $90 for Members
  • $145 for Not-Yet-Members

The program fee covers workshop materials, assessment tools, and some meals. Payment is due in full upon registration and enrollment will not be guaranteed until payment is received.

 

This training has been approved for 5 Continuing Education Credit Hours by the National Association of Social Workers, CT and meets the continuing education criteria for CT Social Work Licensure renewal.
