FREE FOR MEMBERS: Suicide Prevention Training: Question, Persuade, Refer

This training is for anyone and everyone, just like CPR is recommended for everyone. A "gatekeeper" is an individual in a position to recognize crisis and the warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide. Gatekeepers include parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, ministers, doctors, nurses, office supervisors, squad leaders, foreman, police officers, advisors, caseworkers, firefighters, and many others who are strategically positioned to recognize someone at risk of suicide.

QPR-trained Gatekeepers will be able to: recognize the signs of suicide, know how to offer hope, and know how to obtain help and save a life. Participants will be given an overview of CT's suicide prevention campaign, the CT Suicide Advisory Board, and review available resources, materials, and a QPR booklet.
